TOW PAC
TOW PAC is the Political Action Committee of the Washington towing industry organized by towers, and for towers to support candidates for the legislature that understand the issues facing our industry. TOW PAC is voluntary, non-profit, non-partisan and non-discriminatory and is political and educational in its purpose and programs.
There is a contribution limit in Washington state of $700 that any one person, business or group can give per election, so raising money is hard work for legislative candidates. Small groups, if they are organized, and if they are committed, can have the same impact as Boeing, Weyerhaeuser or Arco. If only 60 RTTO's across the state contributed just $25 a month or $300 a year over the two years between elections, TOW PAC could raise $36,000 to contribute to key legislators that understand our issues. With that we could contribute the maximum allowable amount to over four dozen legislative candidates!
But is that political clout? The towing industry is effective in lobbying already, but imagine how we would be viewed in Olympia if we contributed at the same level as the Insurance Industry, the Automobile Dealers, or even the Asphalt Paving Association!
